The 2011 edition of Global Retail Development Index GRDI), indicator created by AT Kearney, shows that Brazil climbed 4 positions and is now at the leadership position among the most attractive for foreign investments at the retail sector. The study analyses 30 countries and take into consideration 25 variables in 4 categories (economic and political risk, market attractiveness, market saturation and time pressing). It shows that Brazil presents great urban population, stable political-economical situation, and growing sales on retail sector. Another country that stood up at the ranking was Uruguay, which advanced from the position number 8 to the second position, mostly keeping up with Brazilian expansion. Proving that South America is on top of Global Retail sector, Chile climbed to the third position at the list. China, the leader last year, was now only the number five. A edição 2011 do Global Retail Development Index (GRDI), indicador elaborado pela AT Kearney, mostra que o Brasil subiu quatro posições e ocupa a liderança entre os países mais atraentes para investimentos estrangeiros no setor varejista. O estudo, que analisa 30 países e leva em conta 25 variáveis em quatro categorias (risco econômico e político, atratividade do mercado, saturação do mercado e pressão do tempo), mostra que o Brasil conjuga grande população urbana, estabilidade político-econômica e vendas crescentes no varejo. Outro país que se destacou no ranking foi o Uruguai, que avançou do oitavo para o segundo posto, em grande parte acompanhando a expansão brasileira. Comprovando que a América do Sul é a bola da vez no varejo global, o Chile subiu para o terceiro lugar. A China, líder no ano passado, ficou apenas em quinto lugar.
